The holy grail that every fresher is trying to find when formatting their resume is a high-quality resume to use as a model. Before you go searching across the internet for a sample resume, you should first find out what other people in your field who have a lot of experience have on their resume. Here's how.
If you are like a lot of freshers, you probably have a technical degree, so you are trying to land a job as an engineer, technician, programmer, or a vast array of other concentrations. With that said, you should do some research on senior level executives with well-respected companies to see exactly that they have on their resumes. Why? Because if you know what people have on their resumes who are already in positions that you want for yourself, then chances are you can use some of their skills and talents as a gauge for yourself to see if you have any of those same skills. If you do, then list them on your resume! These people already have the job you want for yourself one day, so obviously the things they have listed on their resume were good enough to land them their positions, so make sure you list the same qualifications on your resume if you share some of the same skills and talents.
Now, chances are you won't be able to just do a Google search for executive's resumes, so you will have to be a little more tactical about it. You can start by going to a company website and search the 'about us' sections of the website. Within these sections you will often times find a list of the executive management team and most of the time if will have a summary of their background. At the very least, it will list some companies they have been with in the past and it will usually list a couple of successes they had with one or more companies they worked for. You can take some of this information and tweak it so that it fits your specific situation and put it on your resume
To go a step further, you can search LinkedIn.com and you can usually find a copy of executive's resumes. This will be extremely helpful, because you can use some of their resume content as a sample resume for freshers. of course you will use you own information, but sometimes a skill or talent listed is very broad and you can use the exact same information. You want to pay close attention to the objectives and accomplishments sections of their resumes. These are the things that are most important to employers. If you are fresh out of school, then use some accomplishments you achieved while in school, but use the other resumes as a guide.
Use these tips to create a great resume and you will certainly stand out from the crowd. I know it's difficult to created a resume for a fresher, but if you find the right format and samples to use you will be well on our way to landing a great job.
